Dialogues in Architecture
It was born with the idea of giving life to a permanent workshop of reflection on issues of urban planning, architecture, the relationship between space and society. It involves architects, engineers, university professors and students, who in various ways are engaged in the theme of the city and the territory, promoting opportunities of confrontation, dialogue and deepening following Chiara Lubich’s insights, the founder of the Focolare Movement.
"Dialogues in Architecture", section of the International Association NEW HUMANITY NGO* of the Focolare Movement, starts in spring 2002.
*From the Statute of the International Association NEW HUMANITY NGO, art. 2 - Purpose: "The aim of the Association is to contribute to achieving the unity of the human family in full respect of the identity of each of its members. It is inspired by the spirit of the Focolare Movement and is committed to spreading the idea of the united world in every area of society, promoting among its members and among those who want to share the action, the spirit of universal fraternity, proclaimed in Universal Declaration of Human Rights article no. 1.
In the awareness that architecture is also called to give life and visibility to forms of social coexistence characterised by sharing and "encouraging" dialogue and the meeting between people, it is intended as a place for cultural analysis and a civic and professional incentive to design, build, imagine spaces of communion and reciprocity in contemporary cities.
